Privacy

What this site does with your information.

Short version: no cookies, no analytics, no trackers and no database. The only personal information this site handles is what you type into the contact form, and what a published poet has agreed to have on their own page.

Last updated 4 October 2026.

What you send us

The contact form is the only place this site asks you for anything. If you fill it in, we receive what you typed: your name, your email address, and your message, plus a working title, the type of work, its current state and its approximate length if you choose to give them.

Only the name, the email address and the message are required. Please do not send anything confidential through it: the form arrives as an ordinary email, which is not a secure channel. If your manuscript is sensitive, say so and we will arrange a better way to send it.

The form also has one hidden field, invisible to you, that exists only to catch automated spam. Anything that fills it in is discarded without being read.

Who else sees it

Your message is delivered to our inbox by Resend, an email delivery service based in the United States, which handles it in transit. It is used to reply to you and to do the work you ask us to do, and for nothing else.

We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or add you to a mailing list. There is no mailing list.

PoemsPoetry is the poetry facing side of Cantu Publishing. If your project is a better fit there, the conversation may continue from that side. It is the same people and the same inbox.

If you are published here

Published poets get a page on this site carrying their name, biography, portrait and books. That material is published because the poet agreed to it, and it is theirs. Nothing goes on a page that the poet has not seen.

Author page addresses are designed to be permanent, because they get printed inside physical books. That is the point of them. If you want your page changed, corrected or taken down, ask and we will deal with it, though we will talk through what a removed address means for any copies already in print.

What the site records on its own

Almost nothing. There is no analytics on this site at all: no page view counting, no heatmaps, no third-party measurement of any kind.

Your IP address is read when you submit the contact form, purely to limit how many submissions can arrive from one place in a short time. It is held in memory for a few minutes and never written to a database, because there is no database. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server request logs the way every web host does.

Cookies

There are none. This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss. That is not a legal technicality, it is simply how the site is built.

There are no advertising pixels, no social media trackers and no third-party scripts. Even the typefaces are served from this site rather than fetched from Google, so reading a poem here does not tell anyone else that you did.

Asking us about your information

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will deal with it. You do not need to cite a regulation or use any particular wording.

Depending on where you live you may have formal rights of this kind in law. We would rather honour the request than argue about which rules apply.

Changes to this policy

If what the site does with information changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. We will not quietly broaden what we collect and leave this text saying otherwise.

Getting in touch about privacy

Questions about any of this, or a request about your own information, can go through the contact form. It reaches the same person who would answer anything else.
